Carnival Fantasy has arrived late into its homeport of Mobile, Alabama this morning due to heavy fog. This is having a knock-on effect for the next scheduled cruise which will depart later in the day.
Carnival Fantasy Delayed Due to Heavy Fog
The Fantasy-class cruise ship had a delayed arrival into the Port of Mobile, Alabama today. The reason is due to heavy fog in the area but through the afternoon conditions are set to improve.
Carnival Cruise Line issued an advisory for guests booked on the January 3 sailing from the port. The embarkation process has been delayed by 2 hours to allow guests to disembark the ship first as there is limited space at the terminal.
CRUISE DELAY!
The cruise ship is currently delayed with arrival expected in the next 45 minutes. All of the cruisers waiting to get on the ship will probably be looking for things to do since their embarkation… https://t.co/Pfci1h98mJ

The ship is set to depart as soon the embarkation process has been completed which will be around 5:00 PM. The itinerary will also go ahead as scheduled with no further delays expected.
Carnival Fantasy which is currently the oldest ship in the fleet will be departing on a 4-night Western Caribbean itinerary including a call at Cozumel, Mexico. The ship will return back to Mobile on January 7. The vessel is 70,300 gross tons and has a guest capacity of over 2,000.
Fog is causing major problems for many cruise ships at the moment. Just days ago 2 Royal Caribbean cruise ships were forced to stay overnight at Port of Tampa, this also delayed the arrival of other cruise ships too. Dense fog has also been hovering around New Orleans which cruise lines are actively monitoring.
