Regent Seven Seas Cruises has shattered its own single-day world cruise booking record with its 2023 world cruise on Seven Seas Mariner.

Carnival Cruise Line has revealed the cruise director and entertainment director for much-anticipated cruise ship Mardi Gras.

And They’ve Been Revealed!

Fan favorites cruise director Matt Mitcham and entertainment director Hugo Hidalgo have both been named to lead the fun factor on Carnival mega ship Mardi Gras which will join the feet in 2020. They both lead 125 team members to make sure guests have as much fun as possible on Carnival’s largest-ever cruise ship.

Chris Nelson, Carnival’s vice president of entertainment, said:

“Mardi Gras will take our entertainment offerings to the next level and Matt and Hugo are the perfect team to lead this effort and help our guests create a lifetime of wonderful vacation memories,”

Mitcham is a native of Birmingham, England, and a 10-year Carnival veteran, Mitcham joined the company as an entertainment host and quickly moved through the ranks becoming a cruise director in 2012.

Hidalgo joined Carnival in 2012 as a Fun Squad member after working the resorts in his home country of Mexico. Hidalgo has earned a number of accolades, including Entertainment Director Rookie of the Year and Team Leader of the Month, as well as recognition for his team’s efforts in raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The cruise line has already announced the senior officers for Mardi Gras right here and we can expect further details about the ship through the year. Right now the new class vessel is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.

Once completed the 180,000-ton ship will debut in August 2020 with a 9-day cruise from Copenhagen. She features six different themed zone and the first roller coast at sea in the world.
