Carnival Cruise Line is keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Beryl as it heads towards the eastern Caribbean including some popular cruise destinations. No doubt all the major cruise lines are tracking the storm’s development as it has been downgraded from a Hurricane.
Carnival Watches Beryl
Even though Beryl has been downgraded from a Hurricane to a Tropical Storm there could still be an impact on the cruise industry. One of the main cruise lines in the Caribbean is keeping a close eye on things as posted by Carnival Cruise Ambassador John Heald.
He posted the following:
For those of you sailing on the Carnival Magic, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Glory and Carnival Fascination here is some news for you
We have been monitoring Hurricane Beryl, a category one storm which recently developed in the Atlantic. In conjunction with our Fleet Operations Center in Miami, we will continue to keep an eye on the path of the storm. Based on the latest forecast, our plan is to proceed with our scheduled itinerary. Should any changes become necessary, we will provide our guests with an update.
Everyone’s safety is our number one priority. Our ships will be operating at a safe distance from the storm at all times.
For now, no Carnival cruise ship itineraries have been impacted by the cruise line. Those guests booked in sailings for Carnival Magic, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Glory and Carnival Fascination will go ahead as normal. Guests will be updated if there are any changes.
Current Storm Status
Tropical Storm Beryl is currently located around 720 miles east of the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean. Even though the storm was downgraded from a category 1 Hurricane it still poses a huge threat and could increase in power as it develops into warmer waters. Right now the storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 MPH and is moving west at 14 MPH.
Tropical Storm Beryl will reach the popular cruise destinations in the Virgin Islands on Monday and then Puerto Rico on Monday night. Do keep an eye on the storm and updates from the cruise line as itineraries including these port of calls could be impacted.
