Gifford is known for being in the cruise industry’s first national television commercial in 1984. Her catchy musical inclusion brought the cruise line’s attention to the masses and pushed out the “Fun Ships” craze! She hasn’t just been in ads for Carnival as Gifford also served as godmother to Carnival Celebration in 1987 and Carnival Ecstasy in 1991.
Let’s take a look at one of the commercials Gifford was in:
Gifford introduced her GIFFT wines to the fleet in 2015 with the launch being held aboard Carnival Splendor. Guest can enjoy a glass of her Pinot Noir Rosé or Chardonnay in the onboard restaurants.
Kathie Lee Gifford will be taking part in the naming ceremony of Carnival Sunrise on May 23 at the Manhatten cruise terminal in New York. She will celebrate the newly transformed ship from Carnival Triumph with its new godmother Kelly Arison, the daughter of Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison.
