As the coronavirus pandemic spread across the world Carnival Cruise Line has been forced to cancel calls to Italy on the Carnival Radiance.
Carnival Radiance Will No Longer Sail to Italy
The Carnival Victory is currently undergoing a major $200 million transformation dry dock in Cadiz, Spain into the Carnival Radiance. When the new look vessel debuts towards the end of April it won’t be visiting the ports which were first scheduled due to the deadly coronavirus which is also known a COVID-19.
The cruise line has announced a change to the vessel’s Meditteranean itineraries which will kick off on April 29 out of Barcelona, Spain. Italian ports of call have been replaced with alternatives and this impacted the cruises departing on April 29, May 9, May 21, May 30. Here is the newly revised itinerary for each of those sailings:

These changes comes after the Italian government has closed down the country with nationwide restrictions which is impacting more than 60 million citizens.
To make up for the cancelled calls to Italy Carnival Cruise Line is offering $300 of onboard credit per stateroom. This will automatically be added to the Sail & Sign account at the beginning of the sailing.
If guests booked by March 5, 2020, they can cancel up to 30 day days before the departure date. Cancelation charges shall be kept for a future cruise credit which must be used on a cruise departing by May 30. Any pre-purchased shore excursions through the cruise line will be refunded to guests.

As of writing, Italy has one of the largest outbreak of the coronavirus after mainland China. According to John Hopkins University, there are currently 12,462 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Italy and the death toll in the country sands at 827.
