Judy Cole
I just read the Escape will be dry docked in September for repairs. I am scheduled to do a Greece cruise on June 20. Should I have any concerns about the safety of the ship?
DeanneB
@Judy Cole No not really, ships are required to dry-dock every 3 years. So they generally schedule dry dock for aesthetic maintenance or others. I think you only should be worried if it is an emergency dry-dock. For Escape, this is most likely routine check.
Warren Allgyer
According to the announcement from NCL this was an unscheduled dry dock and four weeks of scheduled cruises were cancelled, refunded, and compensated with future cruise credits. I am scheduled for its first cruise back on October 12 and I am deeply concerned.
PBgal
I just heard the news and we just made final payment last week for the November 1st cruise. I am also concerned. We are in Europe for two weeks prior to the cruise. We have been on 30+ previous cruises but never had a cancellation. If NCL cancels do to the ship being in dry dock, do they refund the payment? DeanneB
Yeah I think you are right @Warren Allgyer NCLcancelled Sept 8 to Oct 2 sailings. October 12 sailing is still a go. No information yet on the November sailing @PBgal if they will cancel too. The Nov sailing is after the drydock so probably they will not cancel.
