Behind the Scenes of Carnival’s Chocolate Melting Cake

Did we say Carnival’s Chocolate Melting Cake? Yes, we did! Just the thought of it makes us want to go on a Carnival Cruise.

There’s nothing better than some behind the scenes footage of what makes your Carnival cruise tick along – unless it’s the legendary Carnival Chocolate Melting Cake which is king of all other footage.

Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador and senior cruise director posted on his ever popular Facebook page some footage into just how that Chocolate Cake is made. We also get to see how busy the galley is too with waiters rushing around getting the dessert orders.

On a recent cruise, one of the chefs showed John and some guests how to make the Chocolate cake. He does a demonstration and explains the ingredients needed:

An attempt at making a Chocolate Melting Cake failed but with the correct sized bowl and portions, it should go smoothly. If you would like to try yourself you can use the recipe below which Carnival posted back in January.

  • Ingredients: 6 oz Dark Chocolate, 6 oz Butter, 4 ea Eggs, 6 oz Sugar and 2 oz Flour.
  • Get down to business: Melt chocolate and butter. Mix eggs and sugar separately, whisk for few minutes, add flour. Add egg mixture to the melted chocolate and mix. Pour mix in a greased mold. Bake directly in oven at 400 degrees for 14 minutes

Let us know how you get on and don’t forget to add a scoop of ice cream on the side.
