All Lirica Class MSC Ships To Get Massive Upgrades

Today MSC Cruises have announced new details on upgrading all of the cruise lines Lirica class cruise ships. It will be known as the "renaissance programme" and will cost almost 200 million Euros. Port of Miami Is Worlds Busiest With Over 4 Million Passengers

Yesterday it was announced that the Port of Miami is the busiest cruise port in the world in the last fiscal year which started in September 30 2012 to September 30 2013. Pressure Mounting After Carnival Triumph Documents

By now we all know about the incident that occurred on the Carnival Triumph cruise ship on February 10th this year when the ship had a fire in the engine room and then lost power. The ship was then adrift at sea for four days with passengers onboard. Costa Concordia Captain Was Distracted On Night Of Tragedy

Apparently the Captain of the Costa Concordia cruise ship was "Distracted" by a phone call. The new information was heard during the ongoing trial of captain Francesco Schettino who is on trial for manslaughter after making lots of mistakes before and after the Costa ship hit the rocks of Giglio which is a small Italian island. Schettinos deputy onboard at the time Ciro Ambrosia revealed the information at the trial to the judges. Passenger Medevaced From Norwegian Breakaway

An 87-year-old female passenger was medevaced yesterday from NCL's newest cruise ship the Norwegian Breakaway. At the time the large ship was 38 miles east of Ocracoke, N.C. The woman was in medical distress when the ship's crew contacted the Coast Guard at 11:30 am on Monday. The passenger is now in a stable condition and being treated at a medical center on land. Costa Concordia Could Be Towed Away In June

According to the engineer who is in charge of salvaging the Costa Concordia cruise ship it will now be towed away from the Italian Island of Giglio in by the end of June 2014. The ship is currently in the up right position on the shore of Giglio. For the ship to be taken away it must first be re-floated which will be another huge operation for engineers. Celebrity Constellation Delayed By Engine Problems

It's being reported that the Celebrity Constellation cruise ship which is operated by Celebrity Cruises has been delayed because of engine issues. Cruise Critic UK is the first site to report the news and states that passengers have been spending more time in the port of Key West in south Florida today but the ship will depart at 10 pm tonight.  The issue is the gas turbine engines but has taken more time to fix according to the site. 73 Balconies To Be Added To Three Thomson Cruise Ships
