The MSC Meraviglia is currently under construction at the STX France shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. Just recently the coin ceremony was held at the shipyard, a major construction milestone within the industry. Once completed MSC Meraviglia will be 167,700 gross tons, making it among one of the world’s largest and the biggest ever constructed for the European based cruise line. But of course the ships just get bigger and MSC recently announced an even larger Meraviglia Plus class with a slightly larger tonnage! MSC Meraviglia will carry 4,500 passengers at double occupancy and 1,540 crew members.
