PREVIOUSLY:

There are reports that a young passenger has gone overboard during a Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Triumph.

From what we can tell from Jim Walkers Cruise Law News and social networking sites the passenger is a young boy but this is not yet confirmed by Carnival Cruise Line. Apparently a passenger went over overboard on March 18th not long after the ship departed its last port of call at Progreso, Mexico.

As you can see from photos twitter by user Sean Dorsey it was the evening and according to Senior Carnival Cruise Director John Heald they are conducting a search of the area. Passengers can be seen looking over the side of the vessel to see whats going on and try to spot the passenger.

Carnival Triumph is sailing a 5-day Western Caribbean cruise which is scheduled to arrive back at its home port of Galveston, Texas on March 19th. With the search of the passenger ongoing there is a possibility of a delay back but that it just speculation at this time.

Cruise Hive has contacted Carnival for further details and will update readers once we get a response. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
