How
It Began...
Cruise Hive was started by a
young guy named Emrys Thakkar who has always been involved
in web design since he was only 15 years old. In 2004 he
decided to work on a cruise ship in the gift shops. He ended
up on the Carnival Sensation, Carnival Glory, Carnival
Celebration and Carnival Conquest. He's still working on
cruise ships and as soon as he finishes working he spends
time on Cruise Hive doing maintenance and adding more pages!
how about that for dedication. In July 2008 Emrys will be
working on the Carnival Splendor which is Carnival's newest
and biggest ship sailing from Dover in the UK.
Working on
cruise ships is what gave Emrys the idea for Cruise Hive.
It's a UK based site and theres not many of them around and
the market is set to explode with newer and bigger ships
coming out of the UK. Cruise Hive is a site where people can
find out about certain ships and add their views or if
people just love cruise ships then this is the place to be.
Cruise Hive
is a brand new site and no money or investment has gone into
the site at all. This is just 1 persons hard work and
dedication! if you have any comment on the site or
anything at all then please tell everyone what you think at
the forums.
Cruise Hive Time Line
April 2007
Emrys had already
been working on Cruise Ships for several
years but this time he thought about
putting together a cruise web site, he
already saw some on the web but thought
there still room for one coming from the
UK.
September 2007
Emrys finished
working his contract for a couple of
months and started designing a cruise
web site, mainly putting together names
for a site and logos and all that.
May 2008
Emrys just
finished his next ship and this time
when he was home he started designing
the actual Cruise Hive web site but
because he had to be back on the ship in
2 months he didn't have much time to
complete it. So he could only do half a
job but the site was up and running.
August 2008
It was decided
that Emrys & his girls friend were to
join up on the brand new Carnival
Splendor so he thought this would be a
great chance to get e block going on
Cruise Hive at the forums. This was done
but towards the end there wasn't much
time for the site because on the Cruise
Ship it's all about working non-stop!
November 2008
Emrys came home
for Christmas and this time he decided
to comppletely re-design Cruise Hive and
make it more durable in today's market. |
