Carnival UK is to increase its
fly-cruise programme from Cardiff International airport for winter 2009-10.
Carnival UK’s new programme will include seven direct
cruise flights from Cardiff to
Barbados, two to
Jamaica, and a new addition
of one flight to Mexico.
Travellers from Wales will be
able to fly direct to join itineraries on P&O Cruises’ Ventura and Oceana, and
Princess Cruises’ Sea Princess. Both have programmes available from November 6,
2009, to April 3, 2010.
Giles Hawke, sales director for
Carnival UK, said: “We have great customer demand in the Cardiff area and are keen to provide the best
range of departures from the local airport for these customers.
“The Cardiff departures have
been popular. "While we have this level of demand, we will continue to look at
positioning aircraft out of Cardiff airport to make the holiday experience
better than ever for our passengers.”
Spencer Birns, head of aviation relations at Cardiff International airport,
said: "The interesting itineraries and exotic destinations are certain to become
a major attraction for our passengers.”
