Carnival Sunshine Has Arrived In New Orleans

Carnival Sunshine

Carnival Cruise Lines latest renovated cruise ship the Carnival Sunshine arrived into New Orleans yesterday for the very first time. The arrival is set to start celebrations of the new ship which was previously known as Carnival Destiny. The ship will be officially named by new Godmother Lin Arison in an event taking place overnight. The ship has just completed a European season which it had been sailing since it’s $155 Million upgrade in May 2013.

Once the christening is done the Carnival Sunshine will set sail today (18th November) on a special six day cruise ending on the 24th. Then the 3,006 passenger ship will begin seven day voyages to the Caribbean from New Orleans all the way to April 2014. Sunshine will then be transferred to the popular growing port of Port Canaveral where she will sail five to eight day cruises to the Caribbean year round.

Carnival Sunshine is one of the largest ships ever to sail from New Orleans but an even bigger ship will soon have it’s home-port there! And thats the Carnival Dream which will start sailing from there once the Carnival Sunshine moves to Port Canaveral in Florida.

The ship is set to be a popular choice for New Orleans bookings and has all the new fun 2.0 upgrades which include Guys Burger Joint, RedFrog Pub and new Hasbro entertainment games. Also a brand new adults only serenity area which is on three decks and featuring a waterfall is set to be a popular destination on-board.
